In this art practice, the entire mural was completed independently from conception, sketch, to final implementation.
The central theme of my mural project is communication—not only between students, but also among students, teachers, and campus service staff. I was drawn to this everyday yet essential aspect of campus life and felt that a public mural would be an ideal medium to express it. Painted on an open wall, the mural becomes part of the shared space it represents, reinforcing its message through visibility and accessibility.
Using a bold contrast of purple and orange as the primary palette, I layered translucent colour blocks to create a sense of lightness and fluidity. This technique evokes openness and ease, visual cues that mirror the positive, dynamic, and relaxed atmosphere that effective communication fosters. Through this work, I aim to enhance the humanistic spirit of the campus and encourage more meaningful, empathetic connections in daily interactions."
